Treatment for Eating Disorder
A word about eating disorders
There are three types of eating disorders that have become fairly prevalent in society today, namely Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and binge eating disorders. All of them can be dangerous and even fatal which is why they are considered serious public health threats. To put it in the simplest of terms, these disorders are mental illnesses that can become life-threatening if you don’t seek out a professional treatment for eating disorder program.
These disorders are characterized by a personal obsession with one’s weight and the relationship that they have with food. These disorders are more common among women than men and typically begin during adolescence. Additionally, eating disorders are common across all age groups, genders, and races. So as you can quickly tell, eating disorders don’t play favorites and will impact people from all walks of life.
Emotional, genetic, and psychological issues are oftentimes at the root of eating disorders. In addition to this, society is a harsh judge of one’s appearance and promotes unrealistic ideas regarding attractiveness and beauty. This is overly communicated through the media in various forms and leads many of us to having lowered self esteem and a negative image of our bodies.

There are 6 key elements involved in the eating disorder treatment and recovery process which involves learning:
