Dr. Joseph Mawhinney, MD
Dr. Mawhinney is a Board Certified psychiatrist who practices in San Diego, California. Dr. Mawhinney graduated with an MD 44 years ago. He has been helping people with eating disorders for many years.
Founder
Laurie Daily-Murphy, CEDS, CHT
Laurie is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist just celebrated 20 years of her own recovery from eating disorders. Laurie has worked extensively in the eating disorder field for over 15 years. She has coached many to health and wellness.
Laurie worked at Gurze Books for over 6 years and was the Assistant to the Editor for Eating Disorders: The Journal of Treatment and Prevention as well as the Web Marketing Director for Bulimia.com. At Gurze there is a wealth of knowledge on eating disorders as well as the latest research findings. Laurie had the most recent information at her fingertips. Laurie has also had articles published in the Eating Disorders Today and in the Gurze eNews.
As a member of the National Eating Disorders Association and the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals, Laurie has attended and been a guest speaker at many professional conferences.
Laurie is also a professional singer who has dedicated her music to recovery. She has released two CD’s. The most recent “I Wanna Live!” was co-written with a producer from Los Angeles who has played with many well known artists. She has inspired many through her music and message to find a life free from the obsession of food. Laurie has performed nationwide at colleges and conferences singing and sharing her story of hope and healing.
In an effort to help others recover and live their dreams, Laurie has created Harmony Grove. There is a tremendous need for low-cost anorexia and bulimia treatment alternatives. Laurie combines her education, personal experience, and empathetic heart to inspire others to find inner harmony and grow within.

Mollie Coughlin, MFT, CEDS
Mollie Coughlin is a state licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist. Mollie has been working with Harmony Grove since we opened. She has devoted her career to providing comprehensive supportive care and recovery to people suffering from various forms of disordered eating. Mollie understands the struggle of living with unhealthy eating patterns and how this affects all aspects of daily living. She is passionate about restoring quality of life and freedom from ED obsessions to those that she has the honor of working with on their journey to recovery.
Therapist
Julie Oddone, LMFT
Julie Oddone is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist whose personal history with an eating disorder gives her a deeply compassionate place from which to provide therapy to our clients. Her special interests include Attachment, Guided Imagery and Re-parenting. Julie joins her clients wherever they are in their recovery process and guides them until they are able to lead. She feels psychotherapy is her life’s work.
Dietitian
Heather Waldie, RD
Heather Waldie is a Registered Dietitian in nutrition counseling for people suffering from eating disorders. She is the founder of National Nutrition Consultants. Heather graduated from San Diego State University in 2003 after completing a Bachelor’s of Science in Food and Nutrition and Dietetic Internship. She has an extensive and diverse nutrition background and has been providing nutrition support through individualized meal planning for over 8 years. Heather is passionate about helping others overcome their eating disorder by incorporating a healthy balance between food and fitness into their lives.
Expressive Arts Therapist
Francine Hoffman, M.A.
Francine is an Expressive Arts Therapist in incorporates dance, drama, music, visual arts, and poetry into helping women find their authentic selves. She is an intuitive and versatile educator/therapist with over thirty years in the wellness and healing industries.
Resident Manager
Sarah Boehnke, RN
Our house mom, Sarah, attended University of Northern Colorado to receive Bachelors of Science in Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. She has long term recovery from anorexia and bulimia and is a Harmony Grove alumni. Sarah has the warmest heart, she is a great listener, yet she also knows when to draw a line to keep ED out of the house. “I love helping women see that recovery is possible and walking with them through the first part of that journey. It’s so rewarding to see them transform and watch them grow into the incredible women they were meant to be.” She says. All the women who attend Harmony Grove love Sarah! They appreciate her calm energy and silly sense of humor.
Intake Coordinator
Charity Lazarri, MSW
Charity obtained her Master’s degree in social work from San Diego State University in 2012, as well as her Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law. Her past experience includes working with individuals recovering from severe mental illness and substance abuse, as well as those with involvement in the criminal justice system. As part of her degree requirements she completed internships with UCSD Outpatient Psychiatric Services and the San Diego Behavioral Health Court Calendar Program, a joint venture through the San Diego Primary Public Defender’s Office and Exodus Recovery, Inc. She also has experience in the dependency court arena as a judicial intern as well as and a certified legal intern, representing children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect. Charity’s recovery from a long battle with eating disorders inspired her decision to work with individuals who are struggling with eating disorders.
Housing Staff
Our recovery residence is staffed with caring women, many who have found recovery from eating disorders themselves and desire to give back to others. Some of the housing staff are students who have training in the field of eating disorders. They are all warm, caring, and compassionate and always available to lend a hand if someone is struggling.
Harmony Grove provides eating disorder treatment in California, however, we take people from everywhere.
