Harmony Grove provides an 8 bed residence as well as an eating disorders day treatment program in San Diego, California. Women come from all over the world to overcome anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, compulsive eating and all variations of eating disorders. We are highly qualified and eating disorder treatment is our specialty.

Eating disorders are a very dangerous

Eating disorders are a very dangerous illness that needs well qualified treatment. Statistically, the death rate of people with eating disorders is between 10 – 25% with 2 – 5% of deaths resulting from suicide. Eating disorders, such as anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder, include extreme emotions, attitudes, and behaviors surrounding weight and food issues. They are real, complex, and devastating conditions that can have serious consequences for health, productivity, and relationships. It takes a strong team of professionals to help you back to eating wellness and health.

Day Treatment and Intensive Outpatient Program

Five days per week transportation will be provided to our eating disorder treatment program at our comfortable office. We provide over 20+ hours of groups and therapy. Please take a look at our schedule page to see how many groups we offer and also that the program is structured enough to learn all the tools you need for success, yet also normal and real life-like enough to help you learn to choose, prepare, and shop for your own meals when you get home.

Our mission

It’s our mission to provide a warm, caring and safe home-like environment for women to journey to eating wellness. We work with women over 18 who have a strong desire to get well and start living life again. We don’t lock the bathroom doors or the cupboards, yet you will be provided with meal support at all meals and 24 hour caring staff. Clients will learn to handle all the temptations, social stresses, and food preparation challenges that come up in a normal day, and they will have support while they learn.

Supportive Qualified Staff

Harmony Grove’s clinical and mental health professional teams are highly qualified in the treatment of eating disorders. That is all we do. Many of our therapists are State Licensed MFTs who are very experienced. We have two Certified Eating Disorder Specialists on staff and there are only 104 in the whole country.We also have therapists nearing licensing (interns and trainees) who have years of recovery to offer inspiration and empathy for what you are going through.

Harmony Grove housing staff will support you in adhering to your plan of recovery. There will be certain general rules that will help to keep the house a safe and recovering environment. For example, meals and snacks will have set time frames, and there will be various other guidelines around mealtime to create a healthy atmosphere. Our goal is to keep the eating disorder out the house and recovery in. We have staff at each meal to support you in the positive changes you will make.

Together with a highly qualified treatment team at our office and a warm supportive housing setting, we provide you with the tools you need for lasting recovery.

Transportation

Five days per week transportation will be provided to our eating disorder treatment program at our comfortable office. Our highly qualified, licensed treatment team have been providing eating disorder treatment for years. Some have long term recovery as well. We provide over 20+ hours of groups and therapy.

Insurance companies

We are currently able to work with many insurance companies, however we cannot accept Medicaid, Medical, Medicare, or HMOs. We do sometimes provide partial scholarships for cash pay clients. We are one of the most affordable eating disorder treatment programs in the country, but also one of the best. We feel strongly about providing a quality program at a lower cost than most eating disorder treatment centers. Though we can’t do it for free, of course, we are about 1/3 the cost of other programs.
